Mobigo Touch Learning System – Hot Toys For Kids On Christmas 2011

vtech mobigo reviews

I have constantly been skeptical of gaming consoles for young children. They’re either as well complex (which results in crying) or too simplistic (which results in boredom). I have witnessed kids (and adults) addicted for the Nintendo DS and Sony’s PSP at the same time as other gaming systems that are great exciting, but really fail in terms of education. Frankly, I thought nobody could get the proper mix of playability and education into one particular box. Then we tried the MobiGo by Vtech.

Let me begin by voicing loudly my most significant complaint. We were only provided one Vtech MobiGo Games to critique and now my young children (5 and practically 3) fight consistently to play with it. Inside the last 3 days the MobiGo has had to go in time out a superb 5 occasions while they determine how to take turns.

At first glance the Vtech MobiGo Games appears like all other portable electronic gaming systems. It really is got a 4-directional button on the left, a display in the middle, as well as a huge button on the correct. It really is got a cartridge on the top. Noticed it. Performed it. Yawn.

Mobigo Reviews : Ok, fine. So I plug inside the “Touch & Learn” cartridge and turn on the thing. It wants you to put in your name.  Witnessed that before as well, correct? Oh wait the whole screen flips up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard! (Those who play with a Sidekick or other flip phones know what I’m talking about). OK that’s pretty cool, but come on my youngsters are five and 2. Seemed a little excessive for me at first. But I’ll get back to that later.

So then I get to select different games to play from the Touch & Learn cartridge. I can immediately tell there are letter games, number games, and other games to try out (actually 6 games in all). I attempted to select one particular with the directional button but it didn’t work. I’ve an iPod Touch, so my instinct was to touch the display. It worked! The entire screen is touch sensitive! It turns out that (duh) the Touch & Learn cartridge relies heavily on the touch screen.
