It should be a lot of fun when planning a baby shower. Today, there is an abundance amount of resources available which makes planning a baby shower fairly easy for the parents-to-be. Today, men now have the pleasures of attending baby showers but this wasn’t always the case. Baby showers are unique with each one having its on theme, setting and other elements. Good etiquette should also be practice when handling a baby shower. The most important of these rules is who will be hosting the baby shower for the mother or family to be. In older times the family to be would chose a non-relative to host a baby shower but now that has changed. It has become quite common now for friends, co-workers or other family members such as the the mother’s or father’s parents to be come the host for the baby shower.

Timing

Determining the best time to host the baby shower can be quite difficult at times since pregnancy runs for nine months. As a rule of thumb people normally host a baby shower about two months prior to the expected birth day. In order to avoid possible complications, you should have the baby shower two months prior to the delivery date where the mother to be will be out of her second trimester.

Post Pregnancy Baby Shower

In a lot of cases parent are choosing to wait until the baby is born to have their baby showers. Although it is not as traditional as having the baby shower before the baby is born, this is great because not only does it helps the parents, it is also great for friends and family because they get to celebrate and see the baby all at the same time. It can also help reduce the likelihood of getting presents that may be too small, too large, or the wrong gender altogether. If a baby shower is going to be given after the baby is born, it is best to wait at least two months after. Places for these types of baby showers can be anywhere from parks, restaurants or a home. If you are one of those who want to be surprised by the baby’s gender, this type of shower is good for you.
