Five Great Tips for Outstanding Baby Nursery Décor

Your baby’s nursery will be one of the first places your baby will receive sensory signals and will spend almost the entire first couple of months between sleeping and quiet alertness. You can make baby’s nursery a calm and soothing environment while still offering stimulus to help her brain grow and develop. With each of these five steps you will make your baby’s nursery outstanding.
Tip 1: Finding Serrenity
All baby nursery’s themes should be one of a calm and serene nature. Babies will thrive in any environment that is calm and serene, allowing them to relax into the environment around them and observe. Consider the colors that are good for a serene atmosphere, like cool greens, browns and blues. You may alao consider using other pastels, such as purples, pinks, and mauves for the desired affect.
Tip 2: Your Childs Gender
If you know the sex of the baby, think of the images you want to influence that child with. Most people still gravitate to blue for boys and pink for girls, baby bedding sets are designed with baby chic in mind. There are lots of beautiful bright colors and patterns to choose from to help you design a gorgeous nursery you’ll want to show off to all the neighbors. Bright colours and patterns encourage baby’s brain to develop also
Tip 3: Understand How Your Child’s Brain Develops
The brain of a newborn baby is constantly growing. Most of children’s brain growth happens before a child turns two, therefore making babyhood and toddlerhood important stages in a child’s life. Other than black and white, red is the first colour your baby can see. Consider using strong, bright colours that will stimulate the brain and encourage confidence. Consider also the topic of animals or other images that a child will identify as she grows.
Tip 4: Consider a Transitional Theme For Your Baby’s Nursery
To avoid having to redecorate your baby’s nursery as they grow into toddlerhood, choose a theme that transitions through each stage well. If you are decorating with a baby animal jungle theme, then paint the walls a soft green or brown as it will transition to a different theme much better than themed wallpaper or murals.
Tip 5: Select Accessories with Meaning
Accessories in your baby’s nursery should be given some consideration as you don’t want them to be hazzardous when your baby becomes active and curious. Instead of choosing accessories for your baby’s nursery because they fit the theme, try using items in a colour or pattern that go with your theme instead. This could include a wall mounted nappy holder, a lotion dispenser positioned above the change table or dresser or even a toy box that grows with your child.
