There are various options you have for putting your baby to sleep in during the first few months of their lives. Carrycots

However its mattress may not be suitable for night-time sleeping, and should be checked before buying. If the mattress is not firm enough to provide support for your baby, you will have to buy a separate mattress for your baby.
Cribs
Another safe place to put your baby to sleep where they will feel quite comfortable is a crib. The advantage of cribs over your carry cots and Moses basket is that it can be rocked or glided to help your baby sleep in the first few weeks.
A crib is a better investment than a Moses basket, as you can easily use it for four to six months. The disadvantage however, is that it is more expensive and is not very portable.
Hammocks
A baby hammock is similar to any other hammock in that it is simply a sling hanging from a metal frame. It comes with sheets, mattress and a mattress cover, and can be gently rocked to make your baby sleep. However the hammock is quite pricey and can be only used for a couple of months which makes it not very economical.
