Animal Baby Shower Game Ideas

Who does not love cute animals? A lot of us have pets and are animal lovers. Animals go well with baby showers and make a real adorable baby shower theme.

If you are planning on what games to have for your baby shower, you might want to consider these games. Here are two of the favorite animal baby shower game ideas for your baby shower.

  1.   Animal Names

This game is so fun to play and put your guests’ memory to a test. It combines parenthood and adorably cute and cuddly baby animals. Plus, it is quite easy to put together.

WHAT YOU NEED:

– master list of baby animals
– answer key (with baby names for each animal)
– pens and paper for each guest

HOW TO DO IT:

For this game, you need to have a bit of research and preparation. Make a list of 20 or so animals. This game can be played individually. Best to play it by pairs or in groups. During the game, distribute paper and pens. Set the timer to 2-3 minutes. Distribute master list of animals. Ask you guests to write down opposite each animal the name of the animal’s baby.

Examples:
– Alligator (baby is called “hatchling”)
– Dolphin (baby is called “calf”)
– Swan (baby is called “cygnet”)

It’s like a quiz, after the game ask the guest to exchange papers or they can check their own work. Ask the parents-to-be to read aloud the correct word or baby name for each of the animal. The guest, pair or group who have the most correct answer wins.

  2.   Ducky-Duck

This is not just a fun game to play but will leave the parents-to-be with lots of gifts. And it is so easy to prepare.

WHAT YOU NEED:

– toy duck for each guest
– baby tub

HOW TO DO IT:

This game can be played individually, by pairs or by group. If you plan to play the game by group, divide your guest into groups of four or five.

Fill the baby tub with water and then put the toy ducks in the baby tub. Before putting the toy ducks in the tub, put an indicative marking at the bottom of each duck.

Ask the guests or representative from the group to pick a toy duck from the tub, one player at a time. Those who get to pick the special toy ducks will win a door prize. After the baby shower, ask the guest to donate the special ducks to the parents-to-be.

There are many other animal games you can do. In my previuos posts, I have listed other game ideas you can choose from or use as inspiration. You can mix different types of game, all of these work well for all types of guest.  In any of the games you plan to have, make sure to have fun yourself.
