How to Throw a Virtual Baby Shower

A baby is a blessing, and therefore must be celebrated. Mom-to-be, especially first time moms, cannot describe the experience, the joy and excitement, but also the worry of not knowing what to expect or what’s to come. All the more reason, to celebrate and make her feel special and loved.

Cute and adorable.decorations, delicious food, and the super fun games, plus overflowing presents are some of the baby shower must-haves that will make any mom-to-be feel special and have all the love and support they need.

Often for family and friends who are far away and spread in different cities and countries, it can be pretty sad to not be able to celebrate with the mom-to-be or parents-to-be in person. However far away, the mom-to-be still need to know you are happy for her and her impending bundle of joy.

If you are the host of the baby shower and you are either with the mom-to-be or also far away and you have guest list who are spread across the globe, you can organize for a virtual baby shower.

Virtual meet-ups and gatherings have become a trend tbese days. Here are some ideas how you can throw a virtual baby shower:

  1.   Plan the Guest List with the mom-to-be to ensure that it includes all those long distance dear family and friends.
  2.   Pick a theme that is gender neutral or gender fit, from barbies to mickey mouse or disney inspired. It’s the theme that creates the fun .
  3.   Work on the Backdrop. This needs a little of creativity, and you can also ask the mom-to-be to decorate her space that reflects the showrer theme, while you create the virtual backdrop.
  4.   Pick a platform and add background. There are so many virtual conference platforms to choose from. Top of the list is ZOOM, and you can easily play around with the background using the platform or other applications.
  5.   Cake is a must-have. Whether in-person or virtual baby shower, baby showers always need a lovely cake for the mom-to-be.
  6.   Treats. It ain’t a party if guests don’t get to enjoy some party treats. You can ask guests to make their own cupcakes or cookies, and share their baking skills.
  7.   Don’t forget the fun activities and games. There are so many games that can be played virtually. Check out some of my posts on games for virtual baby shower.
  8.   Lastly, don’t forget about the thank you gift. It serves to make the virtual party special and memorable no matter the distance.

Nothing seems impossible these days. The technology made meet-ups seem as good as meeting in person. Plus, it’s super practical to throw a virtual baby shower for both the organizer and the guest. Consequently, living a lot of room for gifts.
