Ah, the summer. The weather is great and everyone goes to the beach or enjoys the sun in their own yard. The perfect moment to do bike tours, meet with friends, go to the beach, have a good time and create long-lasting memories together with the whole family.
Now is the perfect time to let your baby explore the wonders our world has to offer. But never forget to protect your child against dangerous sun rays when you let them play out in the open.
The best way to prevent sunburns is to protect your baby with a wide brim baby sun hat.
But there is a huge problem: Toddlers looove to drop their sun protection hat. Over and over. We think it’s cute when we look at our babies doing that, but in this case it’s a problem that endangers out childrens skin.
Trying to convince out toddlers to keep on their hats can be very frustrating and sometimes an endless task. But the moment we give up on it, we allow the sun rays to severly damage the fragile skin of our babies.
Sometimes, when your baby absolutely doesn’t want to wear her hat, it’s necessary to buy a new hat. In this case let your toddler make the decision. Maybe your child just really dislikes her hat and wants to show it to you by taking it off over and over. Some babies start to express a strong will early on which is actually a good thing.
It also teaches your little one the concept of ownership and she is more likely to keep on the hat.
Maybe even indoors.
But don’t allow your toddler to choose a hat that doesn’t really protect her! Always look for a sun protection hat with a wide brim that covers the neck of your baby.
I probably don’t have to mention this, but make sure to take enough to drink if you go outdoors in the summer heat with your baby. It’s good to make sure your toddler drinks enough water over the whole day.
