BABY SHOWER CARD MESSAGES FROM GRANDPARENTS-TO-BE

They say grandparents-to-be are more excited than the parents-to-be,  especially when you are the mother of the mom-to-be. You know exactly what it feels like: pregnancy, chiodbirth and taking care of baby, and what to expect about mommyhood. So, naturally you’d be extra excited bu also extra worried for your daughter and your grandchild.

It would mean a lot and give so much comfort to the mom-to-be, and even both parents-to-be to get message of encouragement and support from the grandparents-to-be. Expecially for the mom-to-be, it will be comforting and special for her to feel and know that her mom is going to be there for her.

Here are some mesaage ideas on welcoming a grandson or granddaughter:

  1.   “My heart is filled with so much joy to welcome my sweet baby’s very own baby into this world”
  2.   “My darlings, remember that kids can’t be returned whenever they misbehave. But you can always drop them off with the grannies”
  3.   “Babies don’t come with manuals, but you’ll do great as mom/dad for sure. And that’s what we’re here for as grandparents”
  4.   “Grandparenthood here we come! We’ve practiced singing lullabies and have babyproofed the house, so don’t worry”
  5.   “Grandma and grandpa got your back. Grandbabies are very much welcome in the house”

Receiving baby shower gifts are great, and having the people you love most around the baby shower to share with your joy as parents-to-be is really wonderful. But, gifts and presence mean so much more when you get to read and hear messages of love and support. It makes the experience really special.

Baby Shower Card Message Ideas

Coming up with a heartfelt message for a baby shower card is not really that difficult if you think about how you feel for the parents-to-be and about your relationship with the mom-to-be or dad-to-be. Are you a bestie or friend of the mom or dad or  of both, are you sibling of the mom or dad, grandparents-to-be, and relative.

It also helps when you know the gender of the baby or if they’re having twins, triplet or so.

You can be candid or funny with your message, you can add some anecdotes of your own or some personal insights based on your experience as parent or someone who might also be expecting.

Pregnancy is a time of excitement for expecting parents and their family, especially first timers. But, it can also be scary, especially for first time moms or parents. So, it would mean a lot to them (parents-to-be) to get some messages of encouragement, and some humor can put a smile on the face.

If you’re a friend of the mom or dad of both parents-to-be, here are some ideas for you to work around with as you write your perfect message.

IF YOU’RE A CLOSE FRIEND

If you are the mom’s bestie or of the dad or both or a relative perhaps of either and you want to express your love and support, here are some ideas that you can use as inspiration as you write your own message:

  1.   “You are going to be an awesome mom (or dad/parents). Congrats!”
  2.   “Get ready to fall inlove. From one mom to another, you will be smitten from the first time you see your little angel to forever”
  3.   “You will be surprised to know you have never and will never love another human being like you’ll love this baby”
  4.   “You thought you have prepared enough, after reading all those books and magazines and having searched online. Well, the best lessons come with time. I’m excited for you.”
  5.   “You are in for the best ride of your life babe. Remember, i’ll be there whenever you need me.
  6.   “Mommyhood sounds and looks so good on you. Congrats!” (May also be for dads)

You don’t really have to write long messages. Keep it brief but not too brief in a way that it doesn’t express what you wanted to convey. Make it sound humorous, but personal and sincere. You’ll never go wrong when you write from the heart.

Before you write something, you first need to consider some.factors and what to include in the card.

  1.   Who to Address
Although often baby showers are for the moms-to-be, you might want to include both parents. Especially when the invitation mentions that both the mom and dad will be present.

  2.   Baby’s Gender
If you plan to gift an item for the baby, then it is good to know the baby’s gender so that you can appropriately tailor your gift and the card message.

  3.   Your Closeness to the Parents
If you want to write something funny to put a smile on the parents-to-be’s faces, then you can if you are close with them. However, if you are not on that level as of yet, then perhaps you can write something sweet and a little bit formal, just to be safe.

  4.   Parental Insight
If you are a parent yourself, you could write a message that highlight the highs and lows of parenting or you can write a message on the bond between the mom and baby.

  5.   Sign-off
End with a sign-off that’s appropriate, meaning depending on your closeness to the mom or parents-to-be. Here’s a few sign-off ideas:

– Lots of hugs and kisses,
– With love,
– Lots of love,
– All the best,
