Co-ed Baby Shower Game Ideas

Baby Shower Games always work well with any type of guest, it is the perfect icebreaker to get the fun going for people who are not familiar with each other.

There are plenty of baby shower game ideas to choose from. In my previous posts, I have compiled some icebreaker, active, competitive, funny, and crafty baby shower game ideas.  But, if you are specifically looking for challenging and exciting Co-ed baby shower games, here are some ideas that works well with both men and women.

  1.   Memory Game

This is a fun and challenging game that will put your guests’ memory to a test. If you already know the gender of the baby, then you can use baby items that are specific to the baby’s gender. But, you need not know the baby’s gender to play this game. You can always use unisex baby items instead.

WHAT YOU NEED:

– basket or tray
– baby-related items (the more the better)
– paper and pen for each guest

HOW TO DO IT:

Fill your basket with small baby-related items before the baby shower. You can also asks your guests to bring some baby items as small gifts, like pacifiers or pair of newborn socks, and other small and affordable items. Collect these items into the basket as they come.

These items can be specific to the baby’s gender, if you already know the baby’s gender or they can be unisex baby items.

During the baby shower, ask the mom-to-be or better yet, the parents -to-be to pass around the bastket or tray filled with baby items. Each guest can have a quick viewing of what’s inside the basket or tray. After everyone had their quick viewing, hide the basket away from the guests and distribute pen and paper. Set your timer to 2-3 minutes, ask the guest to write down as many baby items they can remember. The guest or guests who can recall the most, wins.

  2.   Pin the Poop

This is a hilarious version of the classic favorite “pin the diaper” baby shower game.

WHAT YOU NEED:

– large piece of paper (manila paper)
– permanent marker
– scissors
– double sided tape
– brown paper or colored paper (pre-cut into poop emojis or shapes)
– fabric or scarves to be used as blindfolds

HOW TO DO IT:

You can prepare the materials before the baby shower, or it can be part of your activity during the baby shower where everyone or some of the guests could help.

On the large paper, draw an outline of diaper using the permanent marker, and then stick it to a wall. On the brown paper or colored paper, draw poop emojis (for added fun) or poop shapes, cut them out and place double sided tape at the back of each poop.

Players could play one or two at a time. This can also be played invidually or in pairs. Hand each player a poop, put on their blindfolds, spin them a little and ask them to pin the poop on the diaper.

  3.   Over or Under

This game is new, but is fast becoming a hit and favorite game in baby showers. It is fun and challenging, it puts your guests to a test as to how much they know or can remember about pregnancy, about parenthood, and about the parents-to-be.

WHAT YOU NEED:

– list of faux numerical facts
– pens or pencils
– timer (you can use mobile phones)

HOW TO DO IT:

This might need a bit of preparation, but it is worth it. Before the baby shower, list down “incorrect” numerical facts about pregnancy, parenthood or the parents-to-be. Leave a blank line after each incorrect fact.

Here are some samples:

  a.    The parents-to-be have know each other for 3 years and 6 months before they got married. _______

  b.    An average baby weighs 7 pounds and 3 ounces at birth. ______

Distribute the list and pens or pencils to each guest. They can work individually, but better in pairs. Instruct them to write the words “over or under” on the blank line after each fact. If they think the numerical number is lower than the correct then, they will write the word “under.”

Set the timer to 8 or 10 minutes. Depending on the number of list they will work on. After the game, ask the parents-to-be to reveal the correct answer for each fact in the list. The pair or player who gets the most correct answer wins.

  4.   Pass the Gift

This is a classic that you may have played in other parties, not only in baby showers. What makes it special is the giving of small tokens to your guests, I mean who doesn’t love gifts. Another great thing about this game is that it is so easy to organize.

WHAT YOU NEED:

– music player (use upbeat or nursery rhymes)
– wrapped gift (one per round)

HOW TO DO IT:

Before the baby shower, wrap a couple of simple gift items. You can use one per round, if you plan to have several round of the game or use multiple gifts, if you want to have single round.

Gather your guest in a circle, everyone should be standing. Play a music, you can play upbeat or nursery rhymes would be cute. As the music is playing, ask them to pass around the gift or gifts, when the music stops the person holding the guest is out.

Then, there will be a twist in the end – whoever holds the gift or gifts when the music stops will get to keep it.

These are just some of the Co-ed Baby Shower Game ideas you can use for your baby shower, or refer to for inspiration as you design your own. There is no right or wrong game, any game is always fun. You need not use costly items for the game, it would often be great to ask some of your guest to help. They will be glad to lend a hand. Always remember though, to have fun yourself.
